Science at Key Stage 4

Key Stage 4 Options 2008 - 2011

At Banbury School there are two pathways available in Science for Key Stage 4 students. These are:
Arrow The OCR 21st Century Science GCSE course (Double Award and Triple Award)
Arrow The EDEXCEL BTEC First National Award in Applied Science

You could encourage your child to:


Bullet point Take an interest in science in the news
Bullet point Aim higher than their Minimum Grade
Bullet point Explore the benefits that a secure scientific background can give
Bullet point Ensure that all deadlines are kept to
Bullet point Ensure that your child is thoroughly prepared for all external examinations (21st Century Science)
Bullet point Buy an appropriate revision guide (21st Century Science)
Bullet point Ensure that all homework is completed on time and to the best of his/her ability
  Consolidate the work that has been done, for example by knowing the key words and ideas within each topic.
  Use available media such as TV, internet, newspapers and literature to pursue an interest in science.
  Ask the science staff for help whenever there is any uncertainty about anything that has been covered.
