Banbury School recognises that all children who have special needs may need some extra support in order to achieve their potential.
Those who require additional help may receive this in a variety of ways including:
  • Support in the classroom from a Teaching Assistant • Vocational courses for students in Years 9 to 11 to give them relevant training for the world of work • Help with homework after school
  • Individualised learning materials designed to give added assistance to the student • Short-term withdrawal to follow an individual programme addressing specific needs such as literacy and numeracy • Early morning workshops in handwriting
  • Counselling and personal support for individual students • Alternative programmes of study fulfilling National Curriculum requirements • Individual timetables
Student Achievement Services provides for students with learning, behavioural and emotional needs. We also have provision in place for students with English as an additional language and students who need counselling.
