BBC News School Report
SCHOOL REPORT DAY 13 MARCH 2008

BooksCalls for homework to be scrapped
A teacher’s group is calling for kids to do less homework because of fear that it is making children unhappy and stressed.

Plans for homework in primary schools could be completely scrapped; also the amount teenagers have to do would be cut back.

But nobody is being let off the hook just yet as the idea so far is only being talked about.

BooksA group is also being set up to look at other reasons why children may be unhappy and stressed.

The ideas will be discussed at a meeting of Association of Teachers and Lectures Union next week.
