  LOWER SCHOOL
Banbury School
Welcome
. . . from the Principal
Dr Fiona Hammans Dear Students, Parents and Carers

After another superb year for the school, I am very pleased to offer you information about the full range of courses and other activities that our students can experience in the Lower School.

Years 7 and 8 are in our Lower School and we take great care to make sure that the move from primary school is as smooth as possible. Once here at Banbury School, our students follow a broad ranging set of courses in all of the national curriculum subjects. But education at this school is not just about the subject lessons.

We have a wide range of trips, extra-curricular activities and clubs and teams for students to be involved in. We encourage every one to take part in these as they add to the Banbury School experience and are essential to develop social and leadership skills.

We are very proud of how well students in previous years have moved from their primary school and become full members of the school community – contributing to the school council, and now the Parliament, to being Assistants in the Learning Centre, Art, Drama and Music, being Student Runners, showing visitors around the school, taking on responsibility as Principal Students, acting as guides on Open Evenings and raising huge sums of money for charities.

We have students from all walks of life at Banbury School and each and every one is valued. We make sure we provide the very best chances for all to get the best grades and be part of a caring school that expects the very best from everyone.

Dr Fiona B Hammans
