Achieving Humanities College Status is a really exciting step in the journey Banbury School is making.  Specialist Status will provide opportunities to engage students with increased creativity, exciting resources, and modern ICT.  Committed teachers will help to improve student progress and attainment.  Students will leave Banbury School having enjoyed their school experience with a much broader view of the world.

My key role is to ensure that the Specialist Humanities Status delivers on all its pledges.  I will be managing an efficient team, who will drive and inspire our students to exceed their potential by opening up more opportunities for their social and academic learning.

Specialist Humanities status will enable us to offer exciting and dynamic drama education and theatre experiences, excellent resources and stimulating environments to our students and the wider community.

Being part of the Humanities specialism team will allow the geography department to facilitate Banbury School pupils to become active global citizens. We are looking forward to becoming a Fair Trade School which will give pupils the opportunity to develop an increased awareness of the effect of international trade on peoples lives and how they can influence it. The aim of the geography department is to enable pupils to have an increased global awareness and become sustainable participants.

, Partnership Librarian

I am delighted to have joined the Humanities Specialism team in the new role of Partnership Librarian. My remit is to re-invigorate the love of reading and finding information across the school and our partnership primaries. This includes planning and implementing a facelift for the Learning Centre and a new fiction system for primary schools and that’s just the beginning!
