Banbury School
Welcome
. . . from the Principal
Dr Fiona Hammans Dear Students, Parents and Carers
After another superb year for the school, I am very pleased to offer you information about the full range of courses and other activities that our students can experience in the Upper School.

Since September 2007, students have been following the ‘pathways’ for their KS4, taking a range of different types of core courses and their optional subjects. We expect to continue to improve our GCSE results as all students are taking a pathway suited to their style of learning and matching their individual interests.

We have a wide range of trips, extra-curricular activities and clubs and teams for students to be involved in. We encourage every one to take part in these as they add to the Banbury School experience and are essential for applications to the Sixth Form, colleges and future employers.

We are very proud of how well students in the previous years have done and with the smart uniform and specialist Humanities status; we are looking forward to even greater success.

We have students from all walks of life at Banbury School and each and every one is valued. We make sure we provide the very best chances for all to get the best exam grades and develop the qualities to be successful in adult life.

Martyn Stowe Dear Students, Parents
and Carers

With now an expanded Key Stage 4 and the new Stanbridge building completed the Upper School are looking forward to very exciting times. Exam results are improving year on year and our students end compulsory education with all their options still open. Students within Upper School have chosen their subjects to study and so can now concentrate and enjoy a personalised timetable.

Parents will have the opportunity to meet with Key Stage Co-ordinators at the beginning of the next academic year to listen to a presentation about Key Stage 4 and then have the chance to talk about individual points along with tips and advice on how and why to revise.

The organisation for this academic year will remain the same. Head of Upper School will be working with two Deputy Heads of Upper School and three Pastoral Managers. The team has been put together to provide the best possible care for our students and I know that we are all very much looking forward to working with the both students and parents/carers to achieve success for all our pupils.
